Mary’s Ghost: A Pathetic Ballad
No, don’t mind me at all;
Just a little haunting for you.
You don’t have to cower by the wall
Or even look surprised, I know:
You heard that I would pay a call
Don’t bother to look alarmed.
You will never be in my thrall,
And there’s no need to be armed.
Weapons useless, grappling, brawls:
Do I look as if I am daunted?
While in your comfy bed you loll,
Not the least bit haunted!
