Absolute Twaddle: Fairy Requital

27 July, 2021 by katelaity

A fairy rides a dragonfly into the night (via British Library)

So you chose to insult Morgaine —

What a callow feckless sap!

She rides even now her mighty steed

Considering what delicious mad mishap

Will make your suffering legend

In the fairy lands and those beyond;

The owls may warn, the spiders cry,

But wild sprites already spawned

Will bring their arms and arrows

Tipped with fatal poisons rare,

And you, poor soul, benighted oaf,

It’s much too late to now forswear!
