Cast Our Lines

River Holiday colour

I’m not here
And you’re not there,
Not that it matters at all.

I thought I’d write,
But you were tight,
And seem to have lost the ball.

Come out and play,
It’s a beautiful day,
And all the green is shining.

I’ll bring my band,
And you wave your hand:
There’s no more time for whining.

We’ll sail away
For a year and a day,
Cast our lines on the salty waves.

I’ll sing all night
In the blue moonlight
While the wild sea turtle raves.
